An SLMAC board interfaces between the system and analog devices. These boards convert signals from analog-to-digital and from digital-to-analog. They support the following analog devices:

The SLMAC board provides 24 analog channels. This board can receive instructions from the operating system through the LTUCX board. It supports a line loop resistance of 1000 Ohms, which includes the resistance of the terminal equipment. It allows stations to be 2.6 cable kilometres (1.6 cable-miles of #26 American Wire Gauge [AWG] cable) from the system.

The SLMAC board generates its own ringing voltage and does not require an external ring generator. It supports V.90 (56K) modems with data transmission rates up to 50 kilobits per second (Kbps)

The SLMAC board has SIPAC shelf connectors.

• The LTUCA (Line Trunk Unit Control Advanced) board (see Figure 3-12 ) is the interface between central and peripheral parts of the system.
• The LTUCA selects the signals from the active control unit and distributes them to the appropriate boards in the LTU shelf (LTU shelf is a general expression for all types of peripheral shelf. It can be one of the compact or extended compact shelves).
• The LTUCA also receives signals from the peripheral boards and transmits them to the common control. Existing LTU cables are replaced by the new high-speed cables (HSC) (RJ45 CAT5).

The SIUX (Signaling Unit) board for Hicom 300/300E, replaces the SIU board in the central and peripheral system shelves.
The signaling unit SIUX is used to supply the system with audible tones, announcements and music on hold.
In addition, it contains dial tone receivers, DTMF receivers, a test generator and a test receiver. The parameters for the different generator and receivers can be loaded during operation. The announcements can be stored directly on the SIUX.
As part of the service unit (SU), the SIUX is installed in the CCS common control shelf.
As a DTMF/MFC receiver, the board can be installed in any desired peripheral board slot of the SWU.

In the service unit, the SIUX has the following functions:

The Control Unit IP HiPath HG 3575 (NCUI) board is the main central control for the IPDA and gateway unit in a local system as part of a distributed PBX.

A local system may be an LTU shelf or 19-inch boxes. It controls all peripheral boards in the local system, comparable to the LTUCE board in a peripheral shelf, and has access to the 10/100 Base-T Fast Ethernet Network.

The NCUI performs central functions like DCL-LP, SIU, CONF, MTS and CG. The board has the interface up to 16 peripheral cards in the LTU shelf and in addition an interface to support the 19-inch system.

The RTM (Rear Transition Module) board is implemented in the Compact PCI architecture in HiPath 4000 Siemens Communication Server and forms the interface between the central processor board (DSCXL) and the peripheral LTU shelf.
